The culinary offerings at Yan Peninsula are a testament to high-quality, authentic Asian dishes, particularly its renowned dim sum. Among the popular menu items, the soufflé is a unique dish with a sweet flavor complemented by salted egg at the bottom, creating a delightful contrast of sweet and salty. For those seeking a more savory experience, the tofu beef and broccoli dish stands out, with tofu as the star, adding an interesting texture that beautifully ties the flavors together. The chive taro seafood dish is another highlight, featuring crispy fried slivers of taro that provide a crunchy contrast to the dish's smooth and soft textures. Additionally, the Singapore noodles offer a reliable and tasty option for anyone looking for a classic favorite.

The service, while generally friendly, can vary. While the majority of staff provide excellent service, some customers have reported less-than-ideal interactions with certain male servers. Despite this, the quality of the food has earned Yan Peninsula a loyal following, making it a place worth visiting, especially for those in the Bay Area.

If you’re in the Millbrae area and looking for a memorable dining experience, Yan Peninsula is a fantastic choice, offering both flavor and authenticity in every bite.

Came in late on a weekday evening little before closing. Not busy. Staff let us know we had to order quickly in a nice friendly tone. Place is neat and well designed inside. Lighting was just fine, not super bright. Food- didn't get the exact dish names nor menu photos, sorry about that. Soufflé came out first. A tad sweet, but has salted egg in bottom. Egg adds salty to the sweet making this a nice flavor contrast. Tofu beef and broccoli- the tofu was the star of this dish, tying the flavors together and adding an interesting texture. Chive taro seafood- the fried slivers of taro were almost like French fries in the dish. Overall textures were smooth and soft, so the crunchy taro set things off well. Singapore noodle- a very solid example of an Asian favorite. Would come back again when in area

I Eat dim sum all over Bay Area. This is one of the best dim sum that I enjoy. For the food, I like to give 5 stars. I can only give 3 stars for service. Those women servers are great. One of the male servers tried to talk to me in Cantonese. When he found out I don't speak Cantonese, he said "never mind" in an obnoxious manner. I like to go back to enjoy the foods, but don't want to encounter that male servers if possible.

Authentic high quality dim sum. The amount of char Siu in Cheung fun is generous. Dried fry noodle with beef is also very authentic Hong Kong style

Went on a Weekday ~ 6pm Got the set menu Peking duck was amazing. Hit all the marks, crispy skin and the buns with onion on the side. Literally my favorite dish and they did not disappoint. Honey Walnut Shrimp was so decadent and everything you're expecting but elevated. Steamed fish was so soft. You can taste the quality in the scallops with snow peas. Fried rice has a unique taste with the dried shrimp/fish they add. We've had a few events here and the staff is always so nice and patient, they're really accommodating.

My parents introduced me to this new dimsum place in Millbrae. Parking is a little difficult if you arrive after 12pm. And line is horrendously long. (We got here at 11am and everything was good) They have mostly 3-4 person tables, so larger parties probably should try to make a reservation. My favorite was the steamed giant clams with vermicelli. Clams bigger than my hand and were chopped, steamed til tender, and topped with oil and soysauce. I would definitely get this again! We also really enjoyed the beef offal with radish. Everything was cooked just right, not too mushy or tough. Rich flavor without being too salty. The temperature was acceptably hot (but not pipin' hot) The fried dough in rice noodle was a miss today. The dough was overfried and too dry. The rice noodle was light and thin though! The hargow was standard, 4 huge pieces, pipin' hot. My parents really enjoyed the thousand year old egg pastry, not so much because of the egg but actually the sweet young ginger. They're small bites which was a nice snack Everything is steamed to order, so no carts. The (new) cashier did take a long time and put a wrong item on our check several times (and kept forgetting to fix it), so definitely read that every closely! To be fair, 12:30pm on saturday was an exceptionally busy time and several tables were all trying to leave at once. Maybe don't put a new person on cashier duty at that time?
